The Batman is Robert Pattinson's debut as Bruce Wayne, the man behind the crime-hunting superhero in Gotham City. The following is a synopsis of The Batman, an adaptation of a DC comic character.
The Batman features the journey of Bruce Wayne who is already in his second year as the Caped Crusader. He becomes a criminal hunter whose appearance is feared by criminals in Gotham.
On one Halloween night, Gotham Mayor Don Mitchell Jr. found dead at the hands of a mysterious serial killer.
The killer refers to himself as The Riddler. Batman then investigates the death with the Gotham police and Lieutenant James Gordon (Jeffrey Wright).
After tracing a mysterious message from the Riddler, they find a photo of mayor Mitchell with a woman named Annika at nightclub Iceberg Lounge.
The place is operated by Oswald 'Penguin' Cobblepot (Colin Farrell). Penguin is a confidant of Gotham mob boss Carmine Falcone (John Turturro).
Batman tries to find out the story behind the photo by approaching Penguin. Unfortunately, he didn't get an answer at all.
On the other hand, the Riddler continues to hunt down and kill important people in Gotham, including Gotham District Attorney Gil Colson. This makes Batman continue to hunt for the Riddler by constantly trying to unravel every puzzle he made.
However, the hunt also leads Batman to a clue that reveals the big secrets of Gotham and his family in the past.
